Posts & Discussions
The core of any community is the conversation. In FluentCommunity, discussions are centered around Posts, which act as the starting point for members to share ideas, ask questions, and interact with each other.
This section of the documentation covers all the features you and your members will use to communicate.
How Discussions Work
- Posts: A member starts a conversation by creating a post within a specific Space. A post can contain rich text, images, videos, and links.
- Comments: Other members can then reply to the post by leaving comments.
- Replies: To keep conversations organized, users can reply directly to a specific comment, creating nested threads.
- Reactions & Mentions: Members can give quick feedback with emoji reactions or pull other users into a conversation by @mentioning them.
This creates a dynamic and easy-to-follow discussion structure, familiar to anyone who has used modern social media platforms. In the following articles, we will explore how to use each of these features in detail.

Post Privacy & Visibility
Posts follow the privacy settings of the Space they are shared in:
- Public — Content is visible according to the Space's public access rules.
- Private — Content is visible only to Space members (and users who meet the Space's access requirements).
- Secret — Content is visible only to invited or approved members of that Space.
When a member creates a post, they do not set privacy separately on the post itself. The post inherits visibility from the Space where it is published. For example, a post in a Private Space remains private to non-members, while a post in a Public Space follows that Space's public visibility rules.
Use Case: You run a members-only coaching Space set to Private. Every post shared there is automatically restricted to members, without needing per-post privacy settings.
Unlisted Posts (Pro)
Separately from the Space's privacy level, an individual post can also be marked Unlisted. An unlisted post is hidden from every feed and listing — but anyone with its direct link can still open it normally, and the author still sees it on their own profile timeline. See Creating & Editing Posts for how to set it.
